New casing spinner for threaded casings

During casing advancing work, uncoupling and making-up of threaded casing joints by hand is known to be hard work with a high risk for injury.

The new casing spinner from GDS takes away the manual operation, simplifying the task of making-up threaded casings significantly, and improves the labour environment for the drillers considerably. The spinner is designed for casing diameters Ø114,3 to Ø219,1 and can be carried by a bagger. There is an option for the unit to be fitted with grabbing jaws for ease of handling the casing tubes on site.

The new casing spinner was developed as a result of co-operation between GDS GeoDrilling, RUUKKI Oy, producer of the state of the art RUUKKI RD steel piles, and SPD Scandinavian Pile Driving who is also the manufacturer.

The spinner will be available for sale or rental from end of March.
